A new format: Berlin fashion and jewellery designers positioned themselves offside the Fashion Week at the border of art during Gallery Weekend
The art fair ‘Paper Positions’, known as part of the Gallery Weekend in Berlin, presented itself for the first time together with her little sister this April: The analogue shopping event ‘Fashion Positions’ followed with renowned fashion labels from Berlin into the atrium of the Deutsche Telekom capital branch. We were as well chosen by the Board of Trustees and the VBM to display our rings.
Thus, the light-filled, floor-to-ceiling high foyer turned into an invitation for art-savvy visitors to get to know the multifaceted high-fashion world of Berlin up close. Directly on site, the wearable artworks were admired, fitted and purchased for a private ‘collection’. Next to drawings, photographs and collages, labels such as Brachmann, Velt, Cruba, Esther Perbandt, Marcel Ostertag, Starstyling, Aurelia Paumelle and Rike Feuerstein were found on common ground.
This was not only a portrayal of the Berliner creative scene, but an autonomous statement – opposing the fast pace of everyday consumption, the commercial industries and run out paths.
